OBC currently supports two major local initiatives.

OCYA is an Oundle based charity supported jointly by OBC, St.Peter's CofE, the Jesus Church, and Oundle Methodist Church.  It's aim is to 'take the love of Christ to the young people of Oundle and the surrounding area'.  OCYA currently employs a full time youth worker, Nic Shaw, who works in schools, together with his unruly sidekick, Ben, offering assemblies and running lunch time clubs.  Nic has a passion for music and the Great Outdoors.  He loves teaching youngsters the guitar and runs climbing sessions both at Oundle School and at Peterborough Climbing Wall.  He also organises outward bound holiday activities.  He has this silly idea that God likes to meet with people on mountains!

CROPS is a similar though larger scale operation reaching out mainly to Peterborough schools.  It is headed up by Matt Wild, one of OBC's Elders.  CROPS organises a great houseparty at Letton Hall and runs a monthly city wide youth worship event called The Point.  If you are potentially interested in becoming a Youth Worker and are looking for a great gap year opportunity, get in touch.
